Megan Sherman’s practice focuses on a variety of health care regulatory matters for public and private insurers, as well as health systems and other providers. She provides guidance on a range of issues related to health law, including Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
Prior to joining Manatt, Megan was an Appellate Court Attorney for the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department, where she reviewed and analyzed briefs, records and exhibits for appeals involving complex factual, legal and procedural issues. In addition, she researched, analyzed and interpreted statutes, agency regulations and policies.
Before the New York State Supreme Court, Megan worked as an intern in the government relations subsidiary of a major law firm in New York’s Capital Region. In that role, she researched health care statutes and regulations around continuous care retirement communities, traditional adult homes and nursing homes.
Previously, Megan served as an intern at the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Healthcare Bureau, acting as a consumer advocate on health insurance issues, and as an intern at the New York State Department of Financial Services, where she researched legal issues relating to health care, including provisions of the budget bill, proposed legislation and compliance with the ACA.
