Shatz Appointed to Judicial Council of California’s Appellate Advisory Committee

Manatt Appellate Partner Benjamin Shatz was recently appointed to the Judicial Council of California’s Appellate Advisory Committee—granted to three civil appellate practitioners at a time—where he will serve a three-year term until September 2025.

Chaired by Associate Justice Louis Mauro of the Third District Court of Appeal, the Appellate Advisory Committee is charged with making recommendations for improving the administration of justice in appellate proceedings, including identifying issues and concerns affecting appellate court administration, practice and procedure; proposing necessary changes to appellate rules, standards and forms; reviewing and recommending legislation relating to appellate court practice and procedure; acting on assignments referred to it by the Judicial Council; and making proposals on training for justices and appellate support staff to the Center for Judicial Education and Research Advisory Committee.
