Manatt Represents Francisco Partners in Majority Investment in Kobalt Music

A Manatt team led by Entertainment Leader Jordan Bromley and Partner Beau Stapleton advised Francisco Partners Management, a U.S.-headquartered global investment firm, with respect to its majority stake investment in Kobalt Music. We provided detailed analysis and insights into music, data privacy, litigation, employment, tax and general intellectual property.

Francisco Partners Management has approximately $45 billion in capital raised to date and is one of the largest and most active technology-focused private equity firms in the world. Alongside Francisco Partners, MUSIC and Dundee Partners are also investing in Kobalt. Matt Pincus, CEO of MUSIC, will join the Board of Kobalt after the deal closing.  

The investment in Kobalt will help propel future growth in its creator services, technology and global digital licensing platform, AMRA.
