Virginia Is on the Verge of Giving Health Coverage to 400,000, but There’s a Catch

Manatt’s Cindy Mann, a partner with Manatt Health, was interviewed by Huffington Post for an article on Virginia’s potentially expanding Medicaid coverage to as many as 400,000 residents.

The catch, according to the publication, is that any new Medicaid expansion bill that comes out of the General Assembly will also include work requirements for Medicaid enrollees. Some say that adding a work requirement to the program means that fewer people could get help.

“The potential for loss of coverage is going to be significant,” said Mann.
