One topic that Satenberg covered on the podcast was Dynamex Operations West, Inc. v. Superior Court of Los Angeles (Charles Lee), discussing potential implications of the decision for the employment and labor sector.

“Certainly the Dynamex decision makes it very clear that it’s now going to be even more difficult to classify folks as independent contractors,” said Satenberg. “But it’s really just a continuation of what we’ve been seeing for the past several years in terms of this.”

“What the Supreme Court was doing is really just trying to deal with the issue that was in front of it—dealing with the wage issue and leaving the rest of it open.”
