Weinstein Makes Changes to Legal Team

Weinstein Legal Team Braces for Impact
– Daily Journal

Manatt’s Robert Jacobs, co-chair of the firm’s entertainment, sports and media litigation practice, was interviewed by the Daily Journal on recent changes to Harvey Weinstein’s legal team. The publication noted that Weinstein has made drastic changes to his team since allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced, but the breadth of accusations against him makes it difficult to predict the specific legal action that may be taken.

Jacobs explained that, given how frequently the list of accusers expands and the wide array of misconduct alleged in each instance, it’s likely that Weinstein is trying to cover his bases by hiring a variety of attorneys.

“It’s a very difficult row to hoe, at best, in terms of pursuing legal action against The New York Times or the New Yorker for their reporting,” Jacobs said. “There’s just too much there to challenge each account, and litigating the history would only work against Harvey Weinstein.”
