Law360 quoted Manatt’s Beth Fox, a partner in the firm’s energy practice, in an article about Suniva Inc.'s recent request that President Donald Trump impose tariffs on all foreign-made solar cells.
The tariff could revive concerns over solar power's affordability. For example, there could be more resistance to establishing or expanding state RPS programs, said Fox, who previously handled power procurement issues for utility Southern California Edison.
"That's been abated a bit because solar has become relatively cheap compared to where it was," Fox said.
