Manatt partner to discuss new risks in mobile technology, social media, electronic records and privacy

With the digital landscape rapidly changing, there is a constant need to stay in front of the potential risks and challenges this technology can present. The Practising Law Institute will host a seminar on May 16-17, 2011 in San Francisco and via webcast to offer practical guidance on a host of issues relating to information technology law, including new technologies advertisers and marketers are using to promote their products and services.

Manatt partner Marc Roth will lead a presentation titled "Advertising with Technology," with his co-panelists, Lesley Fair (Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission), Cheryl Givner (Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel, Worldwide Marketing & Core Products, MasterCard), and Ted Lazarus (Senior Counsel, Google, Inc.). The panelists will address advertising issues and best practices for social media, and endorsement and testimonial regulatory guidelines. They will also delve into the hot topic of using geo-location marketing to reach potential customers.
