Addressing Social Determinants to Improve Health

Join Manatt Health and a Panel of Innovators for a Compelling Look at How Integrating SDOH Can Improve Health Outcomes and Advance Health Equity.

The COVID-19 pandemic has cast a harsh light on the extent to which factors such as homelessness, food insecurity and economic instability—collectively referred to as social determinants or drivers of health (SDOH)—are integral to health and health equity. Efforts to address drivers of health are growing but remain diffuse, episodic and grossly underfunded.

In a new webinar—the fourth in our “Ten Health Care Imperatives for the Decade Ahead” series—Manatt Health and a cross-sector panel of thought leaders will explore specific strategies to integrate drivers of health interventions into the health care continuum to improve health outcomes, reduce health care costs and promote health equity. The program will:

  • Provide a shared understanding of the ways in which social, economic and environmental factors, such as homelessness, food insecurity and economic instability, are driving poor health outcomes, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Review potential state and federal policy changes that will shape the way states and localities think about integrating strategies to address SDOH into the health care continuum.
  • Discuss innovative initiatives to address SDOH from a multidisciplinary set of panelists who are leading the way in thinking creatively about scalable, sustainable change.
  • Learn about what’s on the horizon for SDOH under the new federal administration as we transition to a post-pandemic world.
