Mann Quoted in POLITICO About the Impact of Rate Changes on States’ Medicaid Programs

How the Biden administration forced states to raise Medicaid rates
– POLITICO Pro

Manatt Health Partner Cindy Mann was quoted in POLITICO Pro on the Biden administration’s policy to require a certain level of Medicaid provider payment rates for states looking to invest Medicaid funds in social drivers of health.

The article explained how the administration has recently been requiring states to pay doctors and hospitals more for treating patients with Medicaid in an attempt to boost Medicaid rates and improve coverage, access and quality of care.

Mann noted that this move “sends a signal to states about making sure their Medicaid programs are running right. It also sends a message that access to services is a real priority for the administration and that when they have new regulations in place, they will be paying close attention to whether states meet the new access standards.”
