Manatt Health partner Randi Seigel spoke with Inside Health Policy on CMS’s recently created independent commission to assess the response of nursing homes to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the article, Seigel said that the new commission could be an attempt to both regulate and better support nursing homes, and added that “CMS should work on fostering a supportive relationship with nursing homes rather than simply act as a regulatory authority that could potentially cite nursing homes for failing to meet requirements.”
