Manatt has been named to Working Mother magazine’s 2019 “Best Law Firms for Women” list as a Hall of Fame honoree. This is the eleventh time the firm has been recognized on this prestigious list, which celebrates law firms that use best practices to retain and promote women lawyers.
In its profile of Manatt, Working Mother notes that “modifications to income partner and associate compensation were made to add a ramp-down and ramp-up period before and after leaves to smooth the transition, eliminating the impact this previously had on billable-hours review.”
Working Mother co-founded the Best Law Firms for Women initiative in 2007 with Flex-Time Lawyers to celebrate law firms that are most successful in recruiting, retaining, promoting and developing women lawyers. Firms in the United States with at least 50 lawyers are invited to participate, answering detailed survey questions about the firm’s diversity and inclusion programs.
This year, Working Mother partnered with ABA Journal for the third time as a knowledge partner in recruiting firms and publicizing results. They complied a list of 60 firms making progress in this area though key parental leave, work-life balance and career-advancement initiatives as well as career and business development initiatives and workshops. The list also recognizes firms that demonstrate leadership in diversity and inclusion.
