Manatt’s Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, a managing director with our Manatt Health team, was mentioned in an article for The Santa Fe New Mexican about New Mexico’s potential Medicaid buy-in initiative.
As many individuals in New Mexico are stuck between making too much to sign up for Medicaid and too little to afford other insurance options, the publication noted that a legislative study has been conducted to explore the effects of allowing New Mexicans to buy in to Medicaid to bridge the coverage gap.
Brooks-LaSure said, “We think all of these options are viable for New Mexico to consider,” but added that states need to gather further information and data.
