CMS Leaves Out Medicaid Expansion in Arkansas

Arkansas Becomes Third State to Impose Work-for-Medicaid
– Bloomberg BNA

Manatt’s Patricia Boozang, a senior managing director with Manatt Health, was quoted by Bloomberg BNA for an article on Arkansas’ new Medicaid work requirements.

The publication noted that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services did not address the state’s request to curb Medicaid expansion from covering individuals with incomes between 138 percent and 100 percent of the federal poverty level.

Boozang explained that the Medicaid agency’s leaving out the expansion rollback “answers a significant outstanding question about the limits of CMS flexibility in working with states.”
