Manatt Leads Rosco, Inc. to Patent Infringement Settlement

Manatt represented Rosco, Inc. in a patent infringement suit against its competitor Rostra Precision Controls, Inc. in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.

Rosco is one of North America’s leading suppliers of backup camera systems, mirrors and visors to the worldwide commercial vehicle market, and is a leading global manufacturer of automotive vision safety products to the bus and truck marketplace. The patent infringement action involved Rosco’s patented MOR-Vision® Mirror/Monitor Combo Backup Camera System technology. The system offers easily replaceable modular mirrors and monitor components, unique glass reflectivity and ultra-bright imaging for safe school bus operation with automatic monitor view changes.

With the help of Manatt patent litigation lawyers, Rosco reached an amicable settlement in which Rostra will no longer offer or sell the product at issue – a video/mirror system for the school bus industry. The case has now been dismissed.

The Manatt team was led by Irah Donner and Yuri Mikulka, partners in the firm’s intellectual property practice, with support from Caleb Bean, an intellectual property associate.
