Bromley to Speak on NFT Panel at USCO and USPTO’s Virtual Roundtable

Manatt Entertainment Leader Jordan Bromley will speak on a virtual panel session titled “Use of NFTs in the Creative Sector” hosted by the United States Copyright Office (USCO) and United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on January 31.

This session will explore opportunities and challenges arising from the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the creative sector, including the impact of NFTs on copyright-intensive industries, IP rights documentation, copyright transfers and licensing, fractional interests, resale, and other royalties. Panelists will also discuss the public understanding of the relationship between NFTs and copyright and equity considerations.

This program is the last in a series of three virtual roundtables looking at IP law and policy issues associated with NFTs. This study continues the USCO and USPTO’s ongoing work to explore emerging technologies and their implications for IP rights.
