Medina Named on Sacramento Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” List

– Sacramento Business Journal

Manatt Government and Regulatory Practice’s Delilah Clay, legislative & regulatory advisor, and Alfredo Medina, legislative advisor, were named to Sacramento Business Journal’s 2020 “40 Under 40” honors list. 40 Under 40 “celebrates those individuals who reflect the drive, commitment and passion that help make Sacramento great,” according to the Business Journal. Clay and Medina were recognized for their professional achievements, leadership qualities and contributions to the community, and were chosen by a group of their peers, all of whom are former 40 Under 40 winners, as well as the publication’s editorial team.

Clay is highly-respected in California’s Capitol community for her effectiveness in helping her private and public sector clients successfully navigate California’s unique and ever-evolving business and political environment. Her work co-leading the effort to enact the CROWN Act last year is just one example of her leadership. The CROWN Act is first-of-its-kind legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of a person’s natural hair. It has become the model for similar legislation across the country.

Medina is a leading figure in California’s legislative arena. He is well-regarded for his success in guiding clients through California’s complex and ever-changing legislative process. In addition to his legislative-focused role at Manatt, Medina is an active and experienced political consultant. Among the many successes in his career, he is particularly proud of being part of a three-person Manatt team that successfully promoted solar power generation in the state by changing state policy to relieve solar generators from unnecessary and burdensome state mandates. That change helped major solar providers survive and thrive in California.
