Brown, Kieffer Recognized Among LA’s Most Influential People in Business

Manatt’s Kathleen Brown, a partner in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, and George Kieffer, leader of the firm’s government and regulatory practice, have been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2019 LA500, a list of the most influential people in L.A.

The LA500 is an annual list that highlights the people, companies and transactions that have an outsized impact on the business community. This is the fourth year that Brown and Kieffer have been included on the list.

In its profile of Brown, the Los Angeles Business Journal noted her work in business counseling as well as government and regulatory affairs in the healthcare, energy, real estate and financial services industries. Brown has nearly two decades of experience as a senior bank executive, previously working in senior positions at Bank of America and Goldman Sachs.

The Los Angeles Business Journal highlighted Kieffer’s work with clients and public officials on the drafting of the Los Angeles Charter as well as his work with clients on government contracts, procurement and public policy issues. Kieffer is also the chairman of the Los Angeles Civic Alliance and a former two-time chairman of the board of directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
